Bonsoir Paris

by Walter Naeslund on April 25, 2008

Meeting spring in Paris is not such a bad thing. Sure, I’ve had to work quite a bit, but I’ve also made room for some Chablis and oysters (some of the absolute best oysters I’ve hade in my life), great coffee, and even a reasonable rabbit in plum sauce with a descent cabernet to go with it. Bon apetit has taken on a new meaning.R0013351.jpg

It’s really striking how inspiration is the true result driver in this line of work. I realize that when I’m here. It’s so easy to slip into the habit of just working hard, ramming your head against the wall trying to force out good strategies and concepts by just putting in hard hours. But really, being here, I realize that I’m twice or three times as effective when I’m just enjoying life. It’s not how hard you work, it’s the results you get. I must always remember that. Mental note.

I can’t really say what it is about Paris, but the entire ambience here is just so different from Stockholm. It’s magical somehow. After just a couple of hours, I’m in love.

It’s time to get some sleep, but as I look out through my St Germain hotel window and see the Eifel Tower glowing just a few hundred meters away I realize I can’t wait to wake up here tomorrow to a new day. Life should be like that all the time!
