A few years ago I worked with trend analysis in the television industry. It was all about trying to predict the future. Today when I work with strategy for different brands, predicting future scenarios is still at the core of what I get paid to do. One of the best ways I’ve learned over the years is to look in the rearview mirror and try to figure out what is not going to change. Because after all, the biggest part of our future will remain the same. People will still be people, love will still be love, fear will still be fear and there will still be no free lunch. The only method that I’ve found as of yet to supersede the rearview mirror is the “blood, sweat and tears-method” och actually making things happen yourself. Try it sometime!
