We’re Starting a Startup School!

by Walter Naeslund on June 10, 2011

As you know, I love startups. And now I’m involved in an amazing startup project to start a new gymnasium school (the Swedish equivalent to High School for 16-19 year olds) which is specialized in entrepreneurship. The project was initiated by none other than City of Stockholm itself, and is packed with an abundance of both ambition and rebel spirit. Just the way I like it in other words.

The spirit of the project comes from the insight that young people of today, for the first time in history, knows more about a central piece of our society’s infrastructure than adults. I’m talking, of course, about the internet. This is something that we as a country need to support and push for in order for our country to thrive.

For all these reasons, I’m really proud of being a part of this, and I also think that it’s a CSR-project that Honesty can help support in different ways.

An Ocean’s 11 Team. Again.

Just like with the Honesty project, The Stockholm Startup School-project is led by an all star Ocean’s 11-team of specialists in different areas:

A true dream team to execute a true dream project. Not least for me since it is just the school I wanted to go to when I went to high school but couldn’t since there just was no school like this. And now there will be. I can’t think of a better way to put this than quoting George Bernard Shaw:

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”

Perhaps that should in fact be the motto for this school. Really proud to be a part of this!
